Yesterday Microsoft released their new “TestDrive” utility for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. This is an interactive online experience where you can play with ‘day in the life’ scenarios of CRM through the eyes of different roles and responsibilities in your organization. The whole experience is designed to give prospective Microsoft CRM business customers the opportunity to evaluate how the system could work for them.
The current list of roles to test drive includes Sales Rep, Sales Manager, Customer Care Rep and Customer Care Manager. Each of these roles are presented using a click and point video where you are immersed in CRM and guided through a series of dashboards, forms and reports. As you go through each step there is a summary of what you are doing with CRM at that point in time and how you would interact with your data.
I had the chance to try out TestDrive today and found it to be an interactive and interesting experience. I can see the value for customers still deciding on what CRM platform to use for their organization. While TestDrive doesn’t cover every role or experience, it certainly lets Microsoft showcase some of the best features of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and let user evaluate areas of the system that are most relevant to them.
The TestDrive interaction that most impressed me was the Power Pivot Sales Analysis integration with Excel. Being able to splice data in Excel and display it through advanced graphics; all the while being tied back to CRM is incredibly powerful.
Give TestDrive for Microsoft Dynamics CRM a try today. You can log in for free any time.
